The film release of “The Dark Knight” vs “Big Blue” combined with a fresh new origin that chronicles the life of Clark Kent, in a pre-Superman era, has caused prices for the Superman American Alien mini-series to skyrocket faster than my honey-don’t-know-money disappears at a comic-con.

eBay listings show Issue #1 selling as high as the $25 mark while sets of #1-4 have sold as high as $80 with bids. Now even though these are decent money makers, the ones to own are the 1:25 variants for both issue #1 and issue #4.

Due to low print runs, great artwork, and an entertaining Bruce Wayne crossover in issue #4, those variants are almost impossible to find and are more valuable than their rivaled counterparts. I expect prices to fully keep climbing over the next few weeks.
